This basic camp (sleeping in tents) is a great alternative if you want to enjoy real solitude away from the day tour tourists. Located on the island of Craski with a long and never-ending beach. GETTING TO LOS ROQUES:

As option are internal flights from Caracas (45 minutes) price $250 - $255 with the Airline of Chapi Air or LTA in the National airport terminal in Maiquetia next to the International Airport Simon Bolivar.

Flight leaves: Maiquetía / Caracas - Los Roques at 6:30, 8.30 hours in the morning. Flight time to Los Roques is about 45 minutes.

Departure Los Roques - Maiquetía: 17:00 hours arriving at Maiquetía national airport at 17:45 hours.

Flights from Margarita Islands to Los Roques is now possible every day, price $275 - $320 per person (round trip).

Sun creme first off all, the sun is very strong in Los Roques, shorts, t-shirts, swimming suits, beach towel, snorkeling equipment, sneakers and camera.

National park entrance fee per person is still $16.

Travel documents: EU, USA and Canadian, citizens do not need a visa. It is imperative, however, that passports have at least six months left for their expiration.
Currency: The currency of Venezuela is the Bolivar, currently valued approximately Bs. 2150 and as per 01/01/08 Bs. F. 2.2 to the USD $, subject to daily fluxuation.
Vaccinations and Health Warnings: Vaccinations are not required. It is recommended, however, to keep a first aid kit. Gran Roque has a small medical center and a pharmacy.
Dress Code: Light, fresh clothing is recommended, including bathing suits, hats, sunglasses and comfortable shoes for excursions. Sunscreen is a must . Travel lightly, as air accommodations to Los Roques have limited space. (Max. 15 Kg).
Climate: The climate in Los Roques is warm, dry an breezy all year long. It rains occasionally during the months of November and december. The average temperature is 28 degrees Celsius.
Time Difference: Venezuela is five hours behind European time and six behind Standard time.
Language: The official language is Spanish but Italian is also frequently used on Los Roques.
