One of our programs
DAY 1. Leaving Puerto Ordaz marina o Piacoa harbor we’ll board a speed and
comfortable boat specially conditioned for our trip. A few later we have
our coffee break and begin to enjoy the Orinoco River. Thousands of
channels we have to discover. Along our trip we will have some stops for
photos and animal’s watching. An Indian community appear and we try to
make a nice and friendly contact. Sailing through the canals as Sacupana,Buari and Merenjina we´ll observe
the luxuriance of vegetation in the area and add much emotion to our
trip. Thereafter we’ll continue our adventure until we arrive to Tobe Lodge
located just in front the San Franscisco Missionary We are welcome with a refreshing cocktail and assigned our nicely
furbished room. Later you will be able to relax from the river lounge and enjoy a few
drinks. Diner is served.
DAY 2.
After having breakfast, we’ll begin the excursion to the majestic
handshake of the Orinoco river with the Atlantic Ocean.
We’ll visit the Waraos Indians communities in the last islands who
dedicate their time to fishing. Later we walk across the jungle provided
with boots apt to the terrain. After these astonishing walk we’ll look
for a shadowy tree in the border of a small bayou to have our lunch; and
so continue the attractive discovering in every step of the wonderful
Orinoco Delta.
Coming back to the camp, we’ll visit the village of San Francisco de
Guayo and appraise handicraft and pleasant discussion to buy them from
the woman’s.
Returning to Tobé Lodge a good shower is waiting for us, and the terrace
is there for relax.
The French Chef has prepared a delicious diner with some local
delicacies. We enjoy great night hours in the jungle.
Later we may hear the howling of some monkeys, and the fanatics of
adventure can go through the bayous for a crocodile night watching.
DAY 3.
After breakfast, we’ll have a canoe ride. With this typical boat of the
Waraos Indians and provided with roars we’ll display silently with the
purpose to observe birds or animals that approach the edge of the
river.An experience you will never forget. After passing some very small
creeks we will return to Tobé Lodge for a three course lunch.
Relax a while, observing the serenity of the river and the jungle around
the camp.
Then we will embark a motor boat to visit local Indian settlements,
where you will be able to observe their way of living in their typical
dwelling and culture.
The Waraos Indians make famous handicraft and precious hammocks. Surely
we’ll buy some gift for the house and friends.
Later coming back home, an other experience is waiting for you. After
observing the Waraos Indians fishing we’ll intend by ourselves to catch
the piranhas. Unforgettable...
Then we return to Tobé Lodge, and prepare us for the dinner. Happy time.
In Tobé Lodge, the “cuisine” is a very important thing and always a
wonderful surprise.
During the diner a group of Waraos Indians will be invited to show you
their typical dance and sings in the very surprising full dress of their
ancestors.
DAY 4.
After breakfast we’ll embark for our return trip to Piacoa. On the way
we observe the natural and exotic way of life in this fabulous Delta.
Time and conditions permitting we will look for one or two “rancherias”
like, Coboina, Buracaima, Buari, Santa Rosa. The last lunch is served on
board, and then we continue to our point of origin.
Tobé Lodge
GENERAL INFORMATIONS:
Coordination
All tour are driven by bilingual tour-leader. He manages the contact
with Indians and the security of the group.
Transportation:
Sailing on the Orinoco river, we will use speed and comfortable boat for
transfers and strong bongos, kind of Indian pirogues for excursions
around the camp. All boats are motorized with powerful engines. Very
secure, they are well adapted to the river. Pilots and guides know very
well the area.
Life-jacket are supplied for everybody on board.
Lodging
The camp is comfortable with private showers and toilets for every
rooms.
Food and beverages
Mineral water is free, and food is prepared with strict hygiene
conditions.
Clothes
We suggest everybody wear strong and sport clothes. Better to keep a
complete change in a waterproof plastic bag. Don´t forget a cap and
sunglasses.
One suggestion: White cotton long leaves shirt and a jean give an
efficient protection against mosquitoes when we walk in the rain forest.
Sport shoes must dry quickly.
A fancy touch is welcome for dinner!!
Luggages
Soft and light luggage’s are the only ones allowed on board.
We can keep heavy luggage’s before boarding.
Health
Due to the proximity of the ocean the area is really healthiness and a
normal care is fair. Check with your physician
