Venezuela West Tour
22 Days / 21 nights.
West Venezuela Tour,
Clouded forests, rum tasting, cacao plantations, old
colonial towns, Los Andes, Venezuela Amazonas wildlife,
Virgin beaches and the Capital of Venezuela, Caracas city.
01 Day: Arrival in Maiquetia Airport Caracas. 2 hours
Car ride with private Chauffeur to Maracay, accommodation in
4 star Hotel in Maracay including B&B.
02 Day: Optional Day Tour to Hacienda Santa Teresa, a
250 yr old rum factory. one night hotel In Maracay with B&B.
Optional Trip Description: Visit to the famed Hacienda Santa
Teresa Rum factory. A tour of the rum making process
followed by a rum tasting and lunch.
03 Day: Optional Day Trip Cloud forest & Beaches. O/n
Hotel In Maracay. B&B.
Optional Trip Description: Visit the (El Rancho Grande
Biological Research station) for a short walk in the cloud
forests of the Henri Pittier National Park. We then cross
the mountains towards the Caribbean coast arriving at Cata
beach for lunch.
04 Day: Optional Day Trip Colonial History, Afro
Caribbean roots and home to the best cocoa in the world. One
night Hotel In Maracay with B&B
Optional Trip Description: Crossing the mountains of the
Henri Pittier via a different route of the previous day, we
arrive at the colonial town of Choroni. After a visit to the
village we take boats to the village of Chuao famed for
producing the best cocoa in the world. A visit of the
village, the cocoa plantations and drying yards is followed
by a return trip to the colonial town of Choroni for lunch
and the return journey.
05 Day: Morning city tour, then transfer to San
Felipe stopping at Exotic Tropical Flora Park for lunch. O/n
Hotel In Barquisimeto B&B.
06 Day: Morning transfer To Merida Stopping en route
at the village of Tintorero, home of the Venezuelan Hammock
and the original arts & crafts market and lunch. O/n Merida
Hotel B&B
07 Day: Optional Day Trip to The world’s longest and
tallest cable car. Afternoon city tour of Merida. One night
Hotel in Merida with B&B.
Optional Trip Description: Rising to 4800 meters above sea
level the cable car takes you deep into the Sierra Nevada
National park. Upon return to Merida we take lunch and visit
local landmarks and the famous ice cream shop named in the
Guinness book of world records for having the greatest
variety of ice creams in the world, over 3000 flavors' !
08 Day: Optional Day Trip. A morning visit to the
local market and an afternoon at a colonial coffee farm. One
night Hotel Merida with B&B.
Optional Trip Description: In the morning we visit the local
produce, arts and crafts market, and we also have lunch. We
continue traveling through the charming colonial village of
Jaji en route to the ‘El Carmen’ coffee farm to see the
production process and coffee tasting. This is followed by a
stop at the ‘La Victoria’, the first coffee farm in the land
now turned museum, before the return to Merida.
09 Day: Morning transfer to Barinas stopping en route
in high Paramo (The highlands) for lunch and to visit
highland lagoons nestled between the Andean peaks on foot
and horseback. One night in Hotel in Barinas with B&B.
10 Day: Optional Day Trip to local wildlife ranch in
the Llanos or flatlands. One night in Hotel in Barinas with
B&B.
Optional Trip Description: Explore the famed Llanos and
safari vehicle to see, crocodiles, capybara, ant eaters,
jabiru stalks, spoonbills, hoatzin birds and many many
others among the 1000’s of wildlife species species found in
this area known as the ‘Serengeti of South America’.
Lunch is at the wildlife ranch and is followed by further
wildlife watching by boat and piranha fishing. The day end
with a BBQ while watching a famed Llanos sunset.
11 Day: Morning transfer to Chichiriviche In the
Morrocoy national Park stopping for lunch en route. One
night in Hotel in Chichiriviche with B&B.
12 Day: Optional Day Trip to local cays for a day at
the beach and to see flamingoes. One night in Hotel in
Chichiriviche with B&B.
Optional Trip Description: Explore by boat the mangrove
lagoons of Morrocoy passing by the island of birds ( home to
Flamingoes and Scarlet Ibis ) then continue on to local cays
for lunch on a sand bar and a rest on the beaches.
13 Day: Optional Day Trip. Colonial city of Coro (
World Heritage site ) and to Coro sand dunes One night in
Hotel in Chichiriviche with B&B.
Optional Trip Description: Visiting the colonial heart of
the city of Coro to admire the magnificent colonial
architecture and stop for lunch. This is followed by a stop
to see the moving sand dunes of the Paraguana isthmus before
the return.
14 Day: Optional Half Day boat trip to Yaracuy river
delta see a virgin habitat teeming with wildlife. Afternoon
transfer to Caracas. One night in Hotel in Caracas with B&B
Optional Trip Description: An early morning boat trip to the
Yaracuy river delta gives you the chance to see caiman,
howler monkeys and macaws amongst others.
15 Day: Optional Half day Caracas City Tour and cable
car trip to Avila mountain for lunch.– Early afternoon
departure for PAX taking extension – remainder of PAX
transfer to Caracas Airport for International Departure.
Optional Trip Description: A visit to the city’s Colonial
heart and plaza Bolivar. Here there is a chance to explore
the gold market before taking the Metro to the cable car
station. After rising high into the Avila National Park with
amazing views of the city below we venture to the unknown
picturesque Village of Galipan for lunch.
Eastern Venezuela Extension, Caves with endemic birds,
Orinoco delta, and indigenous communities, Canaima national
park Angel falls and Caracas city.
15 Day: Afternoon Flight to Maturin transfer to
Caripe one night Caribe Lodge with full board.
16 Day: Walk through the Guacharo Caves home of the
endemic Guacharo oil birds. Transfer to Hacienda One night
in Hacienda FB.

Day:
Optional Day
canoe trip to Southern Orinoco Delta ( Morichal River ) to
see wildlife and indigenous communities. One night in
Hacienda FB.
Optional Trip Description : We take a short ride to the
riverbanks of the Morichal River, then continue in dugout to
visit Warao Indian communities. Navigating through the
canals gives you the opportunity to see red howler monkeys,
scarlet macaws and many other birds before reaching the
stilted homes of the Warao, The Warao, famed basket weavers,
display their wares and their is the opportunity to make
unique souvenir purchases. This is followed by lunch and
later an opportunity to fish piranha before the return
journey.
18 Day: Morning Trf Ciudad Bolivar visiting La
Llovisna ( the drizzle ) waterfall park and Macagua
hydroelectric eco-museum for lunch. O/n Hotel Ciudad Bolivar
B&B. Optional evening Orinoco boat trip.
Optional Trip Description: A short boat trip traveling under
the Angostura bridge to see the sunset on the river Orinoco
and if lucky enjoy the spectacle of freshwater dolphins
playing at dusk.
19 Day: Fly to Canaima National Park ( the worlds
sixth largest park )and the entrance to Sir Arthurs Conan
Doyle’s Lost world and the Tepui ( tabletop mountain )
region. After settling in and lunch we take a walk behind
the waters of Sapo Falls and then take a boat trip around
the Canaima Lagoon for an amazing spectacle of waterfalls
and mists. One night in Canaima Camp FB
20 Day: Optional Day Trip We travel by dugout canoe
and walk to base of Angel Falls. One night in Canaima Camp
FB
Optional Trip Description: A trip to see the worlds tallest
waterfall. Named after Jimmy Angel, American bush pilot who
discovered it; Angel Falls’s waters descend 979 meters
before collecting into pools allowing visitors to refresh
themselves in its chilly waters, before the return trip.
21 Day: Optional Morning flyover Angel falls in small
aircraft Afternoon Fly to Caracas O/n Caracas Hotel B&B
Optional Trip Description: A 1 hour over flight Angel falls
and once in a lifetime views of this unique tepui ( tabletop
) region.
22 Day: Optional Half day Caracas City Tour and cable
car trip to Avila Mountain for lunch. International
Departure.
Optional Trip Description: A visit to the city’s Colonial
